Introduction

API 5L Grade B Seamless Pipe are typically used in the transportation of various fluids and gases. Since hydrogen sulphide gas reacts with water, as a result of which the free hydrogen molecule gets deposited in the inner walls of conventional steel pipes, thereby leaving it brittle. Addition of elements such as, Molybdenum and chromium can raise the resistance levels of the API 5L Gr B Pipe to both cracking and corrosion as well.

API 5L X42 pipe (L290 pipe)is labeled by its minimum yield strength, 42100 Psi or 290 Mpa. It is a greater category than Grade B and is a low-medium grade pipe.

API 5L X46 Pipe is a carbon steel pipe that is meticulously constructed under API (AMERICAN PETROLEUM INSTITUTE) specifications to satisfy the needs of the client. X46 is a steel grade in the API 5L standard for steel pipes used in the petroleum and natural gas industries. The steel grade is determined by the yield strength of the steel pipe, as well as the manufacturing process.
