Laguardia International Airport is one of the three major airports in New York City, located in Queens and facing Flushing Bay. The airport was named after former New York City Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia. The airport is managed and operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which also operates John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport in New York City.
The total cost of the massive overhaul was $8 billion and for many years it was one of the largest construction projects in the world. The new Laguardia Airport represents an $8 billion investment to bring you a modern, airy and vibrant travel experience at New York's second-largest airport. Reduce the possibility of flight delays with world-class facilities, iconic art, enhanced security and fast access to additional taxiways.
The newest Terminal B is LEED Silver certified, so while providing the latest facilities for passing traffic, it is also built to be energy efficient. Terminal B will be completed in 2022, completing a seven-year process to restore the image of one of the world's busiest airports.
