Alloy 276 Physical properties
Features: Hastelloy C-276 pipe has excellent resistance to localized corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and to both oxidizing and reducing media, thus making it suitable for a wide variety of chemical process environments, including ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated media (organic and inorganic), formic and acetic acids, seawater and brine solutions. It is one of the few materials that withstands the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide.
Applications: Chemical processing, waste treatment, pollution control, pulp and paper production, and marine engineering.

Materials and Manufacture
1 The tubes shall be made from flat-rolled alloy by an automatic welding process with no addition of filler metal.
2 Subsequent to welding and prior to final heat treatment,Class II and Class III tubes shall be cold worked either in both weld and base metal or in weld metal only. The method and amount of cold working may be specified by the purchaser.When cold drawn, the purchaser may specify the minimum amount of reduction in cross-sectional area or wall thickness,or both.
3 All tubes shall be furnished in the solution annealed and descaled condition. When atmosphere control is used, descaling is not necessary..
